HISTORY
Our building, a Methodist Church was opened in 1962, providing a spiritual need on a post-war housing estate. When a nearby Anglican Church closed, the congregation began sharing the building. In 1971 the people came together as a single-congregation partnership and from 1977 we have had the ministry of a full-time Anglican priest.
We have an extensive programme of community activities - Lunch Club, Playgroups, Furniture Scheme, WASH youth theatre & arts group, youth work, and more. Most of these are done in partnership with other community groups.
We carried out a £250,000 refurbishment as our Millennium Project, ensuring that our building is attractive, warm, comfortable and disabled-friendly.
MISSION STATEMENT
As a Christian Church we are here for all people; to worship God, to bring the good news of Jesus Christ and to serve the community in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Together we strive to follow Jesus Christ by serving and witnessing in our community and by being a fellowship of love and respect for one another. We seek to demonstrate the Kingdom of God in ways that are vital, participatory and relevant.
