HISTORY
In 1938 a small disused Bethal chapel in West Auckland was bought for the growing numbers of Catholics in the area and was blessed with the title of St. Philomena. The new church of St. Philomina was built at St. Helen’s in 1953 but was was re-named St. Paulinus when the parish was amalgamated with that of St. Chad’s, Witton Park, in the early ‘80's.
St. Paulinus, an active parish serves many small villages in the Wear Valley and Teasdale areas and is led by retired priest Father Ryan.
